Pallbearers will be Scott Lancaster, Reis Divine, Jesse Smith, Jr., Clint Ehlers, Greg Jackson and Henry Broussard.

Angela was born April 18, 1967 in Homerville, Georgia.  She was the fourth child of Franklin and Peggy Smith.  She attended Clinch County schools and graduated from Coffee County High School in 1985.  She attended the University of New Orleans and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  Years later she attended the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and obtained an associate’s degree in nursing and she has worked as a Registered Nurse for 16 years, primarily in the Emergency Department.

Angela gave birth to her only child, son Reis Divine, in Gulfport, Mississippi in 2001.  After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Angela and Reis, along with the rest of her family, moved to Texas.  In 2012 she met Scott Lancaster, they fell in love and were married on the beach in Destin, Florida in 2014, then settled in Pearland, Texas.

Angela loved life! She loved to laugh and have fun.  She loved to travel and experience new adventures.  She loved to go to the beach, she loved water sports and activities, and she loved to go to New Orleans to Mardi Gras.  She was fun and spontaneous and everyone wanted to be near her, to be inside her circle.  Her laughter was infectious and she had a way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.  She was a good cook who loved to prepare big meals for her family and friends.  She was a kind, giving person who shared whatever she had with her friends and family.  If you needed a place to stay, Angela had a spare room for you; if you needed dinner, Angela had a big meal on the stove and you were welcome to eat at her table.  She and her husband enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles in their free time.  She enjoyed taking her son to Florida theme parks and beaches.

In January 2019 Angela was diagnosed with an aggressive form of sarcoma cancer.  She began chemotherapy, followed by radiation and was completely cancer-free in November 2019.  During her illness, she turned to her faith.  She loved going to Praise Chapel.  She said her spirit was uplifted and it gave her peace and serenity and hope for a cure and hope for everlasting life with Jesus.  Sadly, in February 2020 the sarcoma returned to her lungs.  She started chemotherapy again and only had the chance to complete two rounds of chemo before she was hospitalized and subsequently passed away.

Angela will have funeral services in Texas, then will be transported to South Georgia.  Funeral services will be held, Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Congregational Christian Church in Pearson, Ga.  The interment will follow at Red Bluff Cemetery in the Smith family plot.

In lieu of flowers, Angela requests that donations be made to the Praise Chapel in Webster, Texas.

Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland, TX along with Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
