South Georgia State College recently hosted a resource day for the migrant community on its campus in Douglas, Georgia. The event was held on the Douglas Campus in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Education, Migrant Division and other community and state partners. SGSC hosted over 200 visitors that attended informative sessions preceded by a greeting from SGSC President Ingrid Thompson-Sellers. Hilaria Taft, an SGSC alumna, served as the keynote speaker.

The college’s academic departments were on hand to present information on bachelor’s degree programs. The Environmental Science Club students captured the prospective students’ attention with exciting scientific demonstrations, while SGSC Admissions hosted a workshop and the Georgia Student Finance Commission and the president of the SGSC Foundation supplied key information on navigating through financing their education.
