Miss Willie Mae McKinnon, age 92 of Douglas, passed away early Sunday morning, May 10, 2020 at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. Miss McKinnon was born March 12, 1928 to the late Monroe McKinnon, Sr. and the late Mary Jane Carver McKinnon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters-in-laws, Edward and wife Mavis Lott McKinnon, Harvey and Rudine Fussell McKinnon, Arlen McKinnon, Andrew McKinnon, Bobby McKinnon and Randall McKinnon; three brothers-in-law, Beach Mauldin, Rev. Herman Soles and Johnny Phillips.

Miss McKinnon, a native of Coffee County, had retired after 30 years as a seamstress with Spectrum and she was also a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Sisters Louise McKinnon Maulden of Douglas, GA, Betty Jean McKinnon Soles of Willacoochee, GA, Florine McKinnon Phillips of Douglas, GA, and Martha Denton and husband Billy of Broxton, GA; brother Monroe McKinnon, Jr. and wife Marie of Willacoochee, GA; four sisters-in-law Dolly Mae Morgan McKinnon of Douglas, GA, Lucille Burch of Willacoochee, GA, Irene Carver McKinnon of Douglas, GA, and Betty Jean Jowers McKinnon of Douglas, GA; several nephews and nieces and other relatives.


The graveside service and interment will be Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Arna Cemetery, with Rev. Kevin Stone and Rev. Dennis Harper officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Bobby Ray McKinnon, Travis McKinnon, Terrell Phillips, Wayne McKinnon, Jerry McKinnon and Arlen McKinnon, Jr.

Please note that due to restrictions of attendance and social distancing being placed on funeral homes by the CDC concerning COVID-19, please observe their guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the church of your choice.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
