Dr. Krishnan Chalam, M.D., age 81, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Chalam was born on March 10, 1939, in Egmore, India to Subbier  Krishnan and Annapoorni  Krishnan.

Dr. Chalam was a beloved practicing physician in Douglas, Georgia for over 37 years and was professionally affiliated Coffee Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include: Son, Babu Chalam, M.D. of Bothell, WA; daughter, Anu Kothari of Atlanta, GA; brothers Sankaranavayanab Krishnan, Nararajan Krishnan, Ramachandran Krishnan, M.D., Parthasarathy Krishnan, and Kalyanasundaran Krishnan; granddaughters Priyanka Kothari and Mira Kothari. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alamelu Chalam; father, Subbier Krishnan; and mother, Annapoorni Krishnan; .

 

The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:00AM at Sims Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Due to COVID-19, attendees for the visitation and service are asked to comply with the guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of  COVID-19, including social distancing of six feet of separation and utilization of appropriate medical grade masks while inside Sims Funeral Home.


Memorialization will be by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
