Mike Brawner, age 71

Mike Brawner, age 71, of Douglas, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Brawner was born on March 14, 1949 in Coffee County, Georgia, the son of the late William Heyward Brawner and Martha Milhollin Brawner.

 

Mr. Brawner worked as the Chief Appraiser for Ag South, was a University of Georgia graduate and was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Brawner.

 

Survivors include his lifetime companion, Faye Hennesy of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Liz Grantham (Chris) of Douglas, GA and Lori B. Hersey (David) of Broxton, GA; two sons, Matt Hennesy (Lori) of Douglas, GA and Jeff Hennesy (Kellye) of Douglas, GA; five grandchildren, Emma Lott, Luke Lott, Neely Grantham, Ivey Grantham, Chapel Grantham, Jay Hennesy and Holly Ryan Hennesy; brother, Bill Brawner of Broxton, GA;  nieces and nephews, Brooke Lott, Blair Brawner and Will Brawner.

 

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 11:00am at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Carl McDonald officiating with Jeff Hennesy giving the eulogy. Pallbearers will be Danny Paulk, Rand Vickers, Jimbo Atkinson, Ben Vickers, Jimmy Dockery, Wayne Vickers and Don Brooks.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Coffee County Food Bank 710 N. Madison Ave., Douglas, GA 31533 (www.coffeecountyfoodbank.org)

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to the coronavirus, attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including social distancing of six feet of separation.
