By Kevin Tatum, County Extension Coordinator

This week’s recipe is called “Creamy Pineapple Pudding.” It makes four ½ cup sized servings. You will need the following ingredients: 2 cups 1% milk, 3.4 ounce box of instant vanilla pudding mix, 8 ounce can of pineapple, and 4 large sheets of graham crackers. Begin by pouring the milk and pudding mix into a 1-quart bowl. Stir for two minutes. Let pudding set for five minutes until thick. Open the can of pineapple and drain off all of the juice. Add the pineapple to the pudding and stir. Refrigerate until serving time. Serve with graham crackers.

For some great ideas in the kitchen, visit the UGA Extension’s “FoodTalk” website at https://foodtalk.org. It has great ideas on how to keep your family healthy by making nutritious food choices on a budget.

Set Sail with Georgia 4-H

Georgia 4-H would like to announce that we have your one stop shop for virtual excursions for students of all ages. You can access these programs by visiting http://georgia4h.org/setsail/. The virtual adventures are broken down by age group so that you can select age appropriate programs that are offered. So check out the website and help your student get registered for the adventures of their choice.

Update

The Extension office is open to the public with limitations on number of people in the office at one time. However, we are still not able to hold meetings at this time. We are still holding virtual meetings with our older 4-H members each week. We are in hopes of being able to have a face-to-face awards program in late July or early August, but the odds don’t seem to be in our favor at this time. If we cannot hold it in person, we are investigating the possibility of holding a virtual awards program to announce our award winners with the option of 4-H members picking up their awards at the 4-H office when it is safe to do so. We are also hoping to be able to get our 4-H reward trip in this summer before school resumes in August. I will try to keep you updated as we proceed.

Please remember to continue to safe practices of social distancing until it is safe to resume a normal lifestyle and the threat of COVID-19 has passed.

If you would like to learn how you can become more involved with the Coffee County 4-H program, please contact the Coffee County Extension office at (912) 384-1402 or visit our website at http://coffee4h.org.
