Clara Faye Fender Vickers, 85

Ms. Clara Faye Fender Vickers, age 85 of Douglas, passed away June 17, 2020 at her residence following a short illness. Mrs. Vickers was born, August 17, 1934 to the late Aubrey Foster Fender and the late Clara Fussell Fender. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Vickers, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Faye Vickers Taylor; sisters, Florence Fender Morgan and Marjorie Joan Crosby.

 

Ms. Vickers, a native of Atkinson County, was a homemaker. She was a board member of Bridges of Hope. She had completed an associate degree at South Georgia State College.

Survivors include: Son-in-law: Harvey Taylor of Fitzgerald, GA; grandchildren Brad Taylor and Matt Taylor both of Fitzgerald, GA; siblings Foster Franklin “Bo” Fender of Pearson, GA, Patricia Kirkland of Pearson, GA, Betty Ann Metts of Pearson, GA, and Aubrey Lee Kirkland of Willacoochee, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The graveside service and interment will be Monday morning, June 22, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Carver Baptist Church Cemetery will Brother Tullis Allen officiating.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
