Mr. James H. “Bud” Hutcheson, age 94 of Douglas, passed away Friday evening, June 19, 2020 at The Landings of Douglas following an extended illness. Mr. Hutcheson was born November 25, 1925 to the late Sammie Hutcheson and the late Addie Johnson Hutcheson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ricketson Hutcheson; son Donald Hutcheson; and three sister, Pauline Parsons, Ann Sweat and Sally Swinehart.
Mr. Hutcheson, a native of Coffee County, was a retired contractor as a home construction builder. He was a member of Parkview Calvary Holiness Church.
Survivors include: Son Larry Hutcheson and wife Lisa of Douglas, GA; daughter Judy Ann Grantham of Douglas, GA; daughter-in-law Judy Hutcheson of Douglas, GA; brothers Frank Hutcheson of Douglas, GA and Paul Hutcheson of Douglas, GA; sister Jewell Rahim of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Kim Spain and husband Mickey of Douglas, GA, Donna Kaye Merritt and husband Don of Richmond Hill, GA, Chad Grantham and wife Monica of Leesburg, GA, Constance Anthony of Douglas, GA, Kory Grantham and wife Ariel of Douglas, GA, and Kayla Jones and husband Mike of St. Johns, Grantham FL; great grandchildren Ryan Sellers, Haley Lewis, Connor Merritt, Catherine Merritt, Corra Claire Grantham, Lilah Kate Grantham and Mitchell Grantham; four great great grandchildren Mia Claire Lewis, Addie Sellers, Lillie Sellers and Chan Lewis; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The graveside service and entombment will be held Sunday morning, June 21, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Hutcheson Family Mausoleum at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Herschell Smith and Rev. Tim Mock officiating with Ryan Sellers presenting a eulogy.
Active pallbearers for the service will be: Ryan Sellers, Mickey Spain, Corey Grantham, Donnie Chaney, Eric Chaney and Ashley Spell.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Parkview Calvary Holiness Church Congregation.
