Ms. Thelma Lucille Merchant Lott, age 93 of Douglas, passed away Friday evening, June 19, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Ms. Lott was born December 27, 1926 to the late Jessie Merchant and the late Lavada Moore Merchant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph “J. J.” Lott; a grandson, Terry Scott Jarrard; and seven brothers, Howard Merchant, Collan Merchant, Shelley Merchant, David Merchant, Glenn Merchant, Pete Merchant and Edward Merchant.

 

Ms. Lott, a native of Atkinson County, was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include: Children Helen Malphus, Vickie Jarrard, Levonne Lott and Jessie Danny Lott, all of Douglas, GA; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The graveside service and interment will be Monday, June 22, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Atkinson County with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
