Edward Earl Davis Sr., age 66

Edward Earl Davis Sr., age 66, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Davis was born on September 23, 1953 in Pascagoula, Mississippi the son of the late John David Davis and Betty Ruth Johns Davis.

Mr. Davis was a self-employed mechanic and was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Peggy Sue Davis and Edward E. Davis Jr.

Survivors include six daughters, Loretta Carter (James) of Douglas, GA, Ann Davis (Joey Real) of Douglas, GA, Peggy P. Real (Jason) of Douglas, GA, Patricia Ann Rucker of Lakeland, FL and Brandy L. Lightfoot (Mike) of Cairo, GA; five sons, Danny Page Sr (Becky) of Lakeland, FL, Toby Lee Davis (Susan) Lakeland, FL, Brad Davis (Karen) of Lakeland, FL, Danny Ray Davis (Candice) of Ocilla, GA and John Davis (Nikkie) of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Kenny Williams (Rose) of Douglas, GA and Lynwood Davis of Douglas, GA; twenty two grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 2:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Ortega and Rev. David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until 2pm prior to the service at Sims Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to Sims Funeral Home to help with expenses for Mr. Davis services. Please call Sims Funeral Home or use the donation tab on the web site.  

 

Those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia Guideline concerning the coronavirus.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
