Ms. Brenda Cato Hamontree, age 73 of West Green, passed away Thursday morning, July 9, 2020 at her residence following a short illness. Ms. Hamontree was born, November 2, 1946 to the late Henry Cato and the late Nancy Johnson Cato. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Glenn Hamontree; a son, Morris Glenn Hamontree; a grandson, Rusty Eric Hamontree; and a brother, Otis Cato.

Mrs. Hamontree, a native of Broxton, was a retired seamstress with Fleetwood Draperies. She attended West Green Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Daughters Shelvie Hursey and husband Dewayne of West Green, GA and Twyla McClendon and husband Robert of Douglas, GA; grandchildren Brandon Hamontree of Cleveland, GA and Samantha Hursey of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren Dalton Hamontree and Haley Hamontree, both of Oakgrove, AL and Austyn Jennifer Hamontree of Missouri; sisters Gladys Walker of Tifton, GA, Myrtle Bohannon, and Linda Roberson, both of Fitzgerald, GA; brother Charles Cato of Jacksonville, FL and Raymond Cato of Douglas, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The graveside service and interment were held Sunday afternoon, July 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Burkett Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Bounds officiating.

Pallbearers were: Gene Tanner, Zane McClendon, Anthony Roberson, Cody Hyde, Bruce Deen and Kevin Wise.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
