Walter Jerome Highsmith Sr., age 79

Walter Jerome Highsmith Sr., age 79, of Broxton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Coffee Regional medical Center. Mr. Highsmith was born in Coffee County, Georgia, the son of the late Walter Clyde Highsmith and Lillian Rushing Highsmith.

He worked as a plumbing manager with Fleetwood Homes for twenty-eight years and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where he also was a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Highsmith loved to fish and hunt in his spare time.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Walter Jerome Highsmith Jr., granddaughter, Savannah Sue Highsmith, brother, Donald Highsmith and two sisters, Edna Highsmith and Jean Highsmith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Carole Susan Highsmith of Broxton, GA; son, Thomas Highsmith (Bonnie Kay) of Broxton, GA; daughter, Kimberly Renee Harrell (Gerry) of Douglas, GA; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother, Floyd Highsmith of Savannah, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

Memorialization is by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
