On July 10, 2020, Coffee County deputies responded to a residence on Kalani Road about a stolen vehicle. Deputies spoke to a female subject at the residence and was advised that someone had stolen her boyfriend’s truck. Deputies spoke to the owner of the truck who described the truck as a 1992 green Nissan 4wd.

Deputies later observed a fence in the area surrounding a pond on the Nicholls Road that had been damaged and upon further investigation they observed a vehicle in the pond. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division were notified and responded to the location. The Coffee County Dive Team was also notified to respond and perform a search of the vehicle and the pond to be sure no one was inside of the vehicle.

The vehicle was removed from the pond and was positively identified by the owner as the truck he had reported stolen. There was no one located inside the vehicle or in the pond. This investigation is active, and arrest are pending. If you have any information about this theft, please report it to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office CID at (912) 384-4227, the TIPS Line at (912) 383-8477 or you can private message on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.

Sheriff Doyle Wooten thanks these officers for their diligence in working these cases and delivering to the citizens of Coffee County the service they expect and deserve.
