Mr. Jose Garcia Gomez, age 86 of Nicholls, passed away early Friday morning, July 17, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Gomez was born November 19, 1933 to the late Carlos Gomez and the late Patrocinia Garcia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anselma Capetillo Gomez, who passed away on October 30, 2016.

Mr. Gomez, a native of Levanito, Tamavilpa Mexico, had lived in the United State for many years. He had been employed by the Meeks farm for a number of years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include: Children Jose Gomez of Ft. Meade, FL, Maria Patricio of Nicholls, GA, Jorge Gomez of Douglas, GA, Laura Morales of Nicholls, GA, Maria Gomez of Nicholls, GA, and Patricio Ramirez of Douglas, GA; sisters Rosalinda Zamarripa of Ft. Meade, FL and Concepcion Gonzalez of Brownsville, TX; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The graveside service and interment will be Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Central Cemetery with Father Paul O’Connell officiating.

Please note that due to restrictions of attendance and six foot social distancing being placed on funeral service attendees by the CDC and the State of Georgia concerning the containment of COVID-19, please observe their guidelines.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
