Orvis ‘Gene’ Grant, 79

Mr. Orvis “Gene” Grant, age 79 of Nicholls, passed away Wednesday night, July 15, 2020 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Grant was born July 10, 1941 to the late Waif Edward Grant and the late Lillie Mae Miller Grant. He was preceded in death by two children, Edward LaVern Grant and Cynthia LeAnne Grant Hand.

Mr. Grant, a native of Sand Springs, OK, was a retired machine operator for Elixir Industries. He was also a member of First Baptist Church and Men of Acts.

Survivors include: His wife, Paula Lohmeyer Grant of Nicholls, GA; daughter Stacy Dawn Grant of Nicholls, GA; son Kyle Barnes and wife Audrey of Nicholls, GA; grandson Maddoxx Danger Barnes of Nicholls, GA; adopted daughter Laurie Arnold of Nicholls, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The memorial service will be Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hattaway and Rev. Casey Wright officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Men of Acts and members of Charles Warnock/Roger Allen Sunday School Class.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
