Mr. Ernest Dave “Buddy” Ricketson, Jr., age 81 of Broxton, passed away Monday afternoon, July 20, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Ricketson was born June 7, 1939 to the late Ernest Ricketson, Sr. and the late Marguerite McCullar Ricketson.

Mr. Ricketson, a native of Broxton, was the owner and operator of Ricketson Construction Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Douglas.

Survivors include: His wife, Carolyn Smith Ricketson of Broxton, GA; daughter Marguerite R. McKinnon of Broxton, GA; sons Ray Ricketson and wife Cathy of Douglas, GA and David Ricketson and wife Debra of Ambrose, GA; sister Dr. Wilma Lott of Broxton, GA; grandchildren Ashley Ricketson of Ambrose, GA, Hilaree Dale of Broxton, GA, Gabe Dale of West Green, GA, Taylor McKinnon of Broxton, GA, Nicole Ricketson of Douglas, GA, Lance Ricketson of Douglas, GA; great grandchild Sophie Belle Dale of West Green, GA; special friend Henry Porter of Broxton, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The graveside service and interment will be Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Reedy Branch Cemetery with Dr. Shep Johnson officiating.

A musical selection of “How Great Thou Art” will be presented by Gayland Collins.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
