In an effort to slow down the spread of COVID-19 in Douglas and Coffee County, City of Douglas Mayor Tony Paulk launched his “MASK UP Douglas” campaign on Monday, July 20, 2020.  The campaign consists of highly recommending citizens wear facemasks and follow COVID-19 guidelines such as washing hands, sanitizing surfaces, social distancing, and actively help fight the spread of the coronavirus.

“We have to take some personal responsibility in slowing the spread of the virus in our community,” says Mayor Tony Paulk.  “I don’t want to see our numbers continue to climb.  It would be devastating for our city and our local economy, if we were to go through another shutdown.”

While Mayor Paulk has not initiated a city-wide mask mandate, he has asked all city-owned offices to require employees and visitors to wear some type of face covering. Face coverings may include non-medical face masks, bandanas, scarves, or cloth.  Utility customers that do not have face coverings can may payments online or payments can be placed in the drop box outside City Hall.

For more information, please call (912)384-3302 or dial 3-1-1.
