Carole Susan Brogdon Highsmith, age 78, of Broxton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020. Mrs. Highsmith was born on July 17, 1942 in London, England, the daughter of the late Wilson Eugene Brogdon and Dorothy Newman Brogdon.

 

Mrs. Highsmith worked as a receptionist at Wiregrass Tech and attended Eastside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jerome Highsmith Sr.; son, Walter Jerome “Jerry” Highsmith Jr.; granddaughter, Savannah Sue Highsmith; brother, Kenneth Eugene Brogdon and sister, Linda Ray Brogdon.

 

Survivors include son, Thomas Highsmith (Bonnie Kay) of Broxton, GA; daughter, Kimberly Renee Harrell (Gerry) of Douglas, GA; two sisters, Glenda R. Williamson of Richmond Hill, GA and Diana Rosengrant of Tunkhannock, PA; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Joint entombment services for Carole and Walter Highsmith will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11:00am at the Dixie Mausoleum at the Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Kirkland officiating. Pallbearers will be Gerry Harrell, Joshua Harrell, Chad Proudfoot, Mark Mizell, Michael Mosely and Tommy Highsmith.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
