Mr. Charlton “Buddy” Williams, Jr., age 73 of Fitzgerald, formerly of Douglas, passed away Saturday morning August 1, 2020 at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald following a short illness. Mr. Williams was born March 7, 1947 to the late Charlton Williams, Sr. and the late Millie Acorn Williams. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Williams Harper and Nina Williams.
Mr. Williams, a native of Wheeler County, had been a truck driver with Cecil Hutcheson Feed and Mill. He was also a former member of the Georgia National Guard. He attended Heritage Baptist Church in Broxton.
Survivors include: Son Stanley Williams of Broxton, GA; grandchildren Adam Williams of Broxton, GA, Jacob Williams of Griffin, GA, and Bethany Moore of Broxton, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Memorialization is by cremation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
