Mr. Jimmy Herrel Peacock, age 76 of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Douglas, passed away Saturday evening, August 1, 2020 at Memorial Health in Savannah following a short illness. Mr. Peacock was born November 27, 1943 to the late Willie Byron Peacock and the late Opal Davis Peacock.

Mr. Peacock, a native of Coffee County, was the owner and operator of Peacock Tile Company. He was a member of the Marine Rescue Squad in Bluffton, SC. Mr. Peacock was a member of Okatee Baptist Church in Okatee, SC.

Survivors include: His wife, Lillie Mae Gregory Peacock of Bluffton, SC; children Tammy Wilson of Okatee, SC, Stacy Peacock of Bluffton, SC, and Dewayne Peacock of Ridgeland, SC; sisters Brenda P. Snipes and Zelda P. Tabor, both of Douglas, GA; brother Latraina Peacock of Douglas, GA; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Gardner and Rev. Coleman Peacock officiating. The interment will follow in Chatterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers will be: Brendon Peacock, Dewayne Peacock, Stacy Peacock, Justin Peacock, Harley Wilson, David Stilwell, William Boulineau, Bryson Peacock, Kaleb Snipes, Grayson Peacock and Jacob Thompson.

Please note that due to restrictions of attendance and six foot social distancing being placed on funeral service attendees by the CDC and the State of Georgia concerning the containment of COVID-19, please observe their guidelines. Please wear your mask to the service.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
