Marilyn Sue Sellers, 75

Marilyn Sue Sellers, age 75, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Sellers was born on November 24, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of the late Russell Bordine and Veda Wilma Pratt Bordine.

 

Mrs. Sellers was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Earl “Matt” Mathews and son-in-law, Wayne Baker.

 

Survivors include her son, Darwin Earl “Kelly” Mathews II (wife Nancy) of Englewood, TN; three daughters, Sue Ann Taylor (husband Ricky) of Waynesville, GA, Janeen Lynn Mathews of Douglas, GA and Mary Marie Mathews of Douglas, GA; brother, Richard Bordine of Waycross, GA; special family friend, Neil McLaurin; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00am at Bristol Church Cemetery 3920 Bill Kimmons Rd. Bristol, GA 31518 with Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, August 9, 2020 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Austin Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Bobby Roberts, Brandon Zuckerman, Wayne Baker and Joshua Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Zaw’s office, Dr. Nugyen, Davita Dialysis, Amedisys, Medicine Cabinet (on Shirley Ave.) and residents of Pine Meadows community.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks in accordance with guidelines concerning the coronavirus.
