Mr. Bobby Rowland, age 70 of Douglas, passed away late Thursday evening, August 20, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Rowland was born November 15, 1949 to the late V. Horace Rowland and the late Evelyn Bullard Rowland. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elmira Rowland; and siblings Billy Rowland, Bennie Rowland, Burnell McNatt and Barbara Truell.

Mr. Rowland, a native of Coffee County, was self-employed as a truck driver. He attended Douglas Christian Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Baker Rowland of Douglas, GA; step-children Cherry Callahan and husband Joe of Nashville, GA, Brenda Moore and husband David of Nashville, GA, Samuel Adams of Nashville, GA, George Williams and wife Linda of Douglas, GA, Sheila Davis of Covington, GA, John Williams and wife Lori of SC, Carl Williams and wife Angela of Statesboro, GA, Robert Williams and wife Cynthia of Dublin, GA; sister Bonnie Thomas and husband Wayne of Douglas, GA; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. J. A. Anderson and Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. The interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, August 22, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers for the service will be: Wayne Thomas, George Williams, Bobby Williams, Randy Cribbs, Lance Johnson and Dalton Lambert.

Please note that due to restrictions of attendance and six foot social distancing being placed on funeral service attendees by the CDC and local governmental authorities concerning the containment of COVID-19, please observe their guidelines. Please wear your mask to visitation and the service.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
