We are pleased to announce, effective immediately, new patient and family visitation guidelines for Coffee Regional Medical Center. Hospital patients, including those in the Emergency Department, will be allowed to have one designated visitor. Obstetrical patients may have up to two visitors and can swap out at the discretion of the charge nurse.

Visitors will not be allowed in the COVID Unit. This unit includes COVID-19 positive patients as well as patients under investigation awaiting test results for COVID-19. These patients may be contacted on their personal cellular devices or by calling their room directly. Procedures remain in place to ensure immediate family members of COVID Unit patients are updated at key times throughout the day.

Visiting hours will be 9am-7pm daily with the exception of an ICU quiet time (no visitors) from 2pm-4pm each day. All visitors must be 18 years and older and will be screened at the entrance and given a visitors pass. In addition, all visitors will be required to wear a mask and stay in the patient room or assigned area. Visitors are asked to bring and wear their personal masks if they have one.

We ask that visitors limit movement throughout the building as much as possible (to the cafeteria, vending machines, and restrooms). The front entrance of Coffee Regional will close daily at 5pm.

For patients not on our COVID Unit, upon admission, the patient will be asked to name their designated visitor. For patients on our COVID Unit, both COVID-19 positive and those awaiting test results, a designated contact person will be established at the time of admission for communication purposes.

An updated patient and designated visitor list will be at the front entrance check-in area each morning. Exceptions for extenuating circumstances such as the end of life decisions, a new terminal diagnosis, etc. may be made by the Physician, charge nurse, or Patient Care Director.

Thank you for your continued support of Coffee Regional Medical Center.
