Eva F. Kirkland, age 91, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Vista Park. Mrs. Kirkland was born on October 12, 1928 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Eddie Fussell and Beadie Harper Fussell.

 

Mrs. Kirkland was a homemaker and a member of Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Kirkland Sr and a son, Willie Warren Kirkland.

 

Survivors include son, Clyde Kirkland Jr (Rhoda) of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Shelba Jean Souther of Douglas, GA and Clydine Sprouse (Adair) of Perry, GA; two sisters, Wilma Brigmond of Ambrose, GA and Bessie Paulk of Ambrose, GA; seven grandchildren, Adina Wilson (Chuck), Kelly Troupe (Scott), Brandon Kirkland (Jincy), Brent Kirkland, Shonda Souther, Stacy Floyd (Daniel) and Gregory Souther (Catie); 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 11:00am at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10am until 11am prior to the service at Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Greg Souther, Brandon Kirkland, Chuck Wilson, Daniel King, Cameron Kirkland, Blake Nobles, Brent Kirkland and Terry Fussell. Honorary pallbearers will be HB Wilson, Susan Gay, Joan Morgan, Gladys Corbitt and Lessie Wilson.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
