Mr. Charley Jerry Chaney, Jr., age 62 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday evening, September 16, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Chaney was born December 10, 1957 to Beatrice Mann Sanders and the late Charley Jerry Chaney, Sr. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremy Chaney.

Mr. Chaney, a native of Kalamazoo, MI, was a self-employed truck driver hauling feed and grain.

Survivors include:

His wife: April McAllister Chaney of Cairo, GA

Sons: Matthew Chaney of Leander, TX
Levi Chaney of Savannah, GA
David Chaney of Thomasville, GA

Daughter: Kali Chaney of Valdosta, GA

Mother: Beatrice Mann Chaney of Old Town, FL

Brothers: Rocky Chaney and Jerry Wayne Chaney both of Old Town, FL
Chris Chaney of TN
Chance Chaney of Valdosta, GA

Sisters: Tammy Oliver of TX
Jolene Quick of Waycross, GA

10 grandchildren

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends

The funeral service will be Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. The interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery 11th Saint Luke Lane Cairo, GA 39828.

Please note, due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the service and visitation. Please wear your mask for safety precautions.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
