The Coffee County Farm Bureau Young Farmer & Rancher Junior Board is proud to announce their September 2020 Ag Spotlight Student of the Month Jane Ashley Rowell.

Jane Ashley is a sophomore at Citizens Christian Academy where she is currently serving as the FFA Chapter Vice President. In 2018, CCA’s inaugural FFA year, Jane Ashley served as Junior Chapter Vice President and competed in the Land Judging Career Development Event (CDE) and received a Gold Emblem. Throughout 2018-2019 she competed in Tree Identification, Compass/Pacing, Timber Stand Improvement and Board-Foot Volume CDEs and received Silver Emblems. She has also competed in the Tree/Forest Disorders CDE where she won second place in Area VI. Jane Ashley earned the Discovery FFA Degree and the Chapter Scholarship Award.

In 2019-2020 she competed in Land Judging, Tree Identification, Compass/Pacing, Timber Stand Identification and Board-Foot Volume CDEs. Her Wildlife Management Team placed 3rd in Area VI. Jane Ashley earned the Greenhand FFA Degree and the Chapter Scholarship Award.

As all CDEs are postponed until Spring, Jane Ashley is looking forward to a busy 2021 competition schedule and has her eye on State in Land Judging, Forestry and Wildlife Management!

When Jane Ashley was in the 4th grade, the Coffee County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, chaired by Kem McKinnon, hosted an Ag in the Classroom and incubated chicken eggs. Students had the opportunity to adopt a chicken and Jane Ashley quickly volunteered. Since then, her flock has grown and she currently has 10 chickens.

Jane Ashley is the daughter of Melissa and Tony Rowell of Douglas. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her chickens and training her bird dogs.
