Lydia Mae Flanagan, age 84, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Vista Park. Mrs. Flanagan was born on September 10, 1936 in Jeff Davis County, Georgia the daughter of the late Roy Clinton and Ruth Teston Taylor.

 

Mrs. Flanagan was retired from Joseph Campbells Soup Company as a line worker and was a member of Congregational Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Moore and two brothers, Billy Moore and Ronnie Moore.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Chaney (James) of Nicholls, GA and Lisa Carver (Mark) of Douglas, GA; two sons, Russell Flanagan of Douglas, GA and Randy Flanagan of Douglas, GA; fourteen grandchildren, Kristy Smith (Troy), Johnnie Nettles Jr (Amanda), Misty Thompson (Billy), Bud Carver, Lewis Nieves (Amanda), Ruthia Thompson, Faith Flanagan, Cameron Flanagan (Bree), Amber Chaney (Nipper), Nathan Chaney, Chelsea Chaney, Kurt Flanagan, Jacee Chaney and Thomas Chaney; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Edward Taylor Sr of Valdosta, GA, Robert Lee Moore Jr (Amanda) of Douglas, GA and Donnie Lee Moore of Douglas, GA; sister, Virginia Richardson of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 2:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Catherine Dennison and Rev. Floyd Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 22, 2020 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Cameron Flanagan, Kurt Flanagan, Bud Carver, Luis Nieves, Johnnie Nettles, Nathan Chaney, Baron Flanagan, Billy Douglas and Thomas Chaney.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks in accordance with the guidelines concerning the coronavirus.
