Walter T. Hutchison, age 69, of Hazlehurst, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020. Mr. Hutchison was born on December 26, 1951 in Douglas, Georgia the son of Mary Lois Geiger Hutchison and the late Jacob Tommy Hutchison.

 

Mr. Hutchison worked at Coley Electrical Supply as a salesman, a member of Harrell Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Stevens Hutchison.

 

Survivors include two sons, Chris Hutchison (Pam) of Hazlehurst, GA and Rodney Hutchison of Douglas, GA; mother, Mary Lois Hutchison of Douglas, GA; four grandchildren, Brooke Smith (Taylor) of Hazlehurst, GA, Kelsey Williams of Douglas, GA, Courson Hutchison of Hazlehurst, GA and Austin Hutchison (Victoria) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Lawanna Tarrant of Douglas, GA; brother, Daren Hutchison of Douglas, GA.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00pm at Harrell Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jimbo Steed officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Ft. Stewart Honor Guard.  Pallbearers will be Zach Taylor, George Spell, Donald Stevens, Brent Hatcher, Richard Wilson Jr and Perry Geiger.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Harrell Grove Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Brent Hatcher, Racoon Bridge Rd., Douglas, GA 31535.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
