Recently, a small business workshop was held for George Washington Carver Shopping Center and Paulk Plaza business owners.  The City of Douglas Community Development Department along with the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, Community Foundation of Coffee County, Georgia Small Business Development Center, and Douglas Downtown Development Authority, welcomed several business owners to the C.E. Weir Center for the workshop.

“We are here to help in any way that we can,” stated Charles Davis, City Manager.  “It is our hope that the information presented during the workshop will incentivize, motivate, and be tools for property owners to establish thriving businesses in the community.”

During the workshop, attendees received information about the Downtown Development Authority, Chamber of Commerce membership advantages, marketing/branding strategies, small business resources offered by the SBDC, façade and landscape improvements, partnership opportunities with the Community Foundation of Coffee County and how city government can help small businesses. For more information about topics that were discussed during the workshop, please contact the Community Development Department, at (912) 383-0277.
