Mr. Ottis Othel Harper, age 92 of Alma, GA, formerly of Douglas, passed away Thursday evening, October 15, 2020 at Life Care Center of Fitzgerald following an extended illness. Mr. Harper was born November 19, 1927 to the late George Jacob Harper and the late Lila Youngblood Harper. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Smith Harper and brothers Vinin Harper and Robert Harper.

Mr. Harper, a native of Irwin County, had been the owner and operator of Harper’s Upholstery in Douglas for many years. He was a member of Rocky Creek Holiness Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

Children: Clifford Harper and Ottis Harper, both of Douglas, GA
Sandra Weidner and husband Ron of Milledgeville, GA
Debra Deen and husband Paul of Alma, GA

Sister: Audrey Corbitt of Marshallville, GA

Four grandchildren

Seven great grandchildren

Two great-great grandchildren

The graveside service and interment will be Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Gene Chaney officiating.

Active pallbearers for the service will be: Rhett Johnson, Logan Harper, Cory Johnson, Tyler Corsa, Tommy Corsa, Belinda Harper and Clair Harper.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
