William Boyd Winters, Jr. age 87, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020. Mr. Winters was born on May 24, 1933 in Douglas, Georgia, the son of the late William Boyd Winters Sr and Ruby Davis Winters.

 

Mr. Winters was co-owner and manager of New Forest Finance, a member of the Lions Club and Exchange Club and a member of Lone Hill United Methodist Church.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Winters Smith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Gerri  S. Winters of Douglas, GA; children, Dora Winters Jardine of West Green, GA, Billy Winters of Douglas, GA, Lynn Polk of Douglas, GA, Gwen Timmerman of Waycross, GA, Debbie Stanley of St. Augustine, FL, Nyckol Goings of Douglas, GA, Ali Youngblood of Douglas, GA, Richard Bolden of Snellville, GA and Tammie Williams of Douglas, GA; brother, Warren Winters of West Green, GA; two sisters, Okla Gagliardi and Ola Harless, both of Douglas, GA; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

In lieu of flowers, the Winters family request that donations be made to: Lone Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Maggie Lou Crosby, 4540 Hwy 221 North, Douglas, Ga. 31533.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorialization is by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
