Coffee County Farm Bureau Young Farmer & Rancher Junior Board is proud to announce the October 2020 Ag Spotlight Student of the Month Kate Day.

 

Kate, a junior at Coffee High, has been an active member of the Coffee County FFA since 6th grade and is currently serving as the historian. In 7th and 8th grade Kate served as reporter, in 9th grade as vice-president and as the committee chair her sophomore year. 

 

She began competing in livestock judging in 5th grade. Throughout her years in livestock judging, she has competed in several contests and clinics, been named high individual numerous times and advanced to state with her team in the 8th grade.

 

Kate has shown livestock for the past 11 years. She has competed in both cattle and swine livestock shows. She has been awarded champion showman many times in both species. Over the summer, she was top 15 Intermediate Swine Showman at the National Junior Show in Des Moines, Iowa. At the Georgia National Fair in 2019, she won Champion Duroc Gilt and 4th overall Breeding Gilt. In 2016 and 2018 Kate won Champion Cattle Showman at the Georgia National Fair.

 

Kate’s passion is exhibiting livestock she works with and cares for her livestock daily her hard work and determination are evident by the various breed champions and division wins she has received.

 

Kate is the daughter of John and Sharon Day of Ambrose.
