Gladys Irene Corbitt, 82

Gladys Irene Corbitt, age 82, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 from injuries sustained from an auto accident. Mrs. Corbitt was born on July 24, 1938 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Homer Deaton and Gladys Burch Deaton.

 

Mrs. Corbitt retired from Golden Poultry and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve D. “Mann” Corbitt, son, Ricky Corbitt and two daughters, Tammy Myers and Nina Faye Corbitt.

 

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Corbitt (Regina) of Broxton, GA and Danny Corbitt (Kathy) of West Green, GA; daughter, Brenda Kay Smith of West Green, GA; three sisters, Martha Highsmith of Pearson, GA, Gladys Azalee Corbitt of Douglas, GA and Eden Hill of Macon, GA; daughter-in-law, Anita Corbitt of West Green, GA; brother, William Homer Deaton of Pearson, GA; son-in-law, Terry Myers of McRae, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 2:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Bounds and Rev. Craig Jump. Interment will follow at Lone Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Giddens, Cole Giddens, Scott Stapleton, Ronald Corbitt, Lee Steverson and Brian Graham.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, November 3, 2020 from 6pm until 9pm at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
