Ms. Hiawatha Grace Courson Porter, age 84, of West Green, GA passed away early Friday morning, October 30, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Ms. Porter was born November 19, 1935 to the late Horace Courson and the late Nellie Grace Dees Courson. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frazier Nathaniel Porter, a son, Michael Andrew Porter, a brother, Maxwell Courson and a sister, Mary Nell Eaton.
Ms. Porter, a native of West Green, GA, was retired after 17 years of service from Walmart as a Customer Service Manager. She was also the valedictorian of the Class of 1953 at West Green High School. Ms. Porter had been a member of West Green Church of God for many years.

Daughter: Nancy Phillips and husband Kim of Douglas, GA
Son: Larry Porter of West Green, GA
Grandchildren: Christopher Phillips and wife Amanda of Nashville, TN, Nathan Porter, Stephen Porter and wife Mahalie and, Miranda Porter, all of West Green, GA
Great grandchildren: Jack Phillips and Francine Phillips both of Nashville, TN, Maci Porter, Saxxton Porter, Lilly Brock, Braydin, Brock and Micah Brock, all of Douglas, GA
Brother: Donnie Courson and wife Kathy of Douglas, GA
Sister: Rebecca Harper of Broxton, GA
Sisters-in-law: Norma Courson of West Green, GA, Mary Corbett and husband Alton of Jennings, FL, Betty Lewis of Enigma, GA., Laveenier Harrel of Austin, TX., and Wvonne Porter of Valdosta, GA.
A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The funeral service will be Monday morning, November 2, 2020 at West Green Church of God at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tim Hicks officiating. The interment will follow at Lone Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday morning, November 2, 2020 at West Green Church of God from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Nathan Porter, Stephen Porter, Ken Hursey, Paul Matis, Dave Roberson and Bruce Deen.
Musical selections including “Roses Will Bloom Again” will be furnished by the pianist Christopher Phillips.
Please note, due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the funeral service and graveside service. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines. We do not furnish masks.
