Allen Wayne O’Steen, 68

On November 13, 2020, Allen Wayne O’Steen, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed away after an extended battle with coronavirus.

 

Wayne was born to Harry and Reita O’Steen of Mora, Georgia on December 8, 1951. He worked for Coca-Cola Corporation as well as Brooks Auto Parts throughout his life. Wayne married his wife, Lynn, in 1983 and raised a son, Landon (Jennifer) Castleman of Bishop, GA and a daughter, Whitney (Cody) Phillips of Broxton, GA. He was also the proud grandfather of Jacob Castleman and Cooper and Adalyn Ward Phillips. Also surviving are three sisters, Harriett Carter (Linton) of Alma, Lynne Chaney (Ed) of Douglas, GA and  Grace Simmons (Jerry) of Ocilla, GA and two brothers, Eddie O’Steen (Evelyn) of Mora, GA and Van O’Steen (Carmen) of Lake Placid, FL, along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

Mr. O’Steen was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret McLendon and a brother, Howard O’Steen.

 

Visitation will be a public walk-through, no contact (mask required) between 6pm to 8pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Sims Funeral Home.

 

A private family graveside service will be held at the Douglas City Cemetery on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00pm. Attendance is limited to immediate family, siblings and their immediate families. Face masks are required. The family also understands if anyone feels uncomfortable attending in person.

 

Pallbearers will be Greg O’Steen, Eddie Chaney, Rodney Chaney, Kevin Simmons, Josh McCardy, Jacob Castleman, Cooper Phillips and Cody Phillips.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
