Yvonne Johnson, age 84, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born on April 1, 1936 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Charles DeWitt Wood and Evelyn Lucille Johnson Wood.

 

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Johnson and two sisters, Jackie Baker and Montene Knowles.

 

Survivors include two sons, Dana Johnson of Broxton, GA and Desmond Johnson of Douglas, GA; daughter, Terry Johnson of Douglas, GA; three brothers, Lynford Wood (Lois) of Smyrna, GA, Darrell Wood (Dee) of Valdosta, GA and Rick Wood of Douglas, GA; two sisters, Mary Lowe (Larry) of Toledo, Ohio and Linda Bursock (Jack) of Winfield, KS; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
