She was born March 10, 1943 to the late Josh Thomas Spell and the late Ethel Wright Spell. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Long, and a grandchild, Morgan Royals.

Mrs. Long, a native of Coffee County, was self-employed as the owner/operator of Betty Florist. She was a member of Chatterton Holiness Baptist Church.

Brother: Pete Spell of Monroe, GA

Sisters: Ann Walls of Wray, GA
Luvinia Joiner of Douglas, GA

Grandchildren: Brandon Long of Dallas, GA

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends

A private graveside service will be Thursday afternoon, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Chatterton Cemetery with Rev. Edsel Young officiating.

The family has decided to have Mama a small, private graveside home going service consisting of only her and daddy’s immediate family including brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. We would love to give her the home going celebration she deserves, but for the sake of health concerns and safety of not only ourselves, but others as well, we feel this is the best decision. We don’t want anyone or anyone’s family to have to go through what we’ve been through with our sweet mama and hope all can understand and respect our decision. In lieu of flowers, daddy has requested that donations be made to the Chatterton Church Cemetery Fund C/O Mr. John Long 5811 Highway 32 East Nicholls, GA 31554 in memory of mama. Also, we ask that instead of sending or preparing food, please donate to our local food bank also in her memory. We are entering the holiday season and there are many families that need help.

A musical selection will be presented by CD.

Please note: due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the graveside service. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
