Thomas Lyman Parker, Jr, age 77, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed away on Monday November 23, 2020. Mr. Parker was born on September 14, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Dr. Thomas Lyman Parker, Sr and Merle Anderson Parker, Sr.

 

Mr. Parker was retired from 3M Corporation in the Professional Relations Department and was a member of St. Simons Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Parker.

 

Survivors include his wife, Larraine O’Steen Parker of St. Simons Island, GA; three sons, Thomas L. Parker III (Suelynne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Carey Lane Parker of St. Simons Island, GA and Richard Lance Parker (Jill) of Folly Beach, SC; brother, John Parker (Karen) of Douglas, GA; two sisters, Lynn Schofield of St. Simons, GA and Laura Parker of Arlington, VA; six grandchildren, Thomas L. Parker IV, Emily Parker, Sarah Parker, Richard Parker, Jr, Tom Parker and William Parker; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Pallbearers will be Andrew Stewart, Thomas Parker IV, Richard Parker, Jr., Tom Parker, William Parker, Mark O’Steen and Jason Parker.

 

A private graveside service will be held at Christ Church Cemetery, St. Simons, GA.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the graveside service is limited to immediate family.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, LaGrange College 601 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240, or  www.lagrange.edu/giving.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. request attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
