Freddie Lewis, age 91, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Vista Park Health & Rehabilitation, Douglas, Georgia. Mrs. Lewis was born on December 16, 1929 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Miles and Lucy Lott Harrell.
Mrs. Lewis worked as a seamstress with Lemar Corporation and was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, Broxton, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Tanner and second husband, Milton “Peter” Lewis, son, Carl Tanner and stepson, Jimmy Lewis.
Survivors include son, Wayne Tanner (Melinda) of Douglas, GA; step-daughter, Judy Sturgis (Wendell) of Ambrose, GA; three grandchildren, Jonathan Tanner (Brittney) of Hahira, GA, Michelle Tanner of Douglas, GA, Jason Tanner of Douglas, GA; three step-grandchildren Alicia Schramm (Brandon) of Port Orange, FL, Jana Grizzard (Alex) of Athens, GA, Jamie Lewis (Leslie) of Danielsville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday morning, December 28, 2020 from 10am until time of service at 11am at Reedy Branch Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00am at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Den Weniger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Jones Jr, Archie Rish Sr, Joey Trowell, Jonathan Tanner, Marvin Knight and Jason Tanner.
