James David Cook, age 77, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Cook was born on April 23, 1943 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Jim Brown and Agnes Parnell Cadle Cook.

 

Mr. Cook retired from Satilla Rural Electric Corporation as a lineman and attended First Assembly Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Hank Crews.

 

Survivors include his wife, Janice L. Cook of Douglas, GA; daughter, Heather Dawn Crews of Nicholls, GA; two grandchildren, Cody Crews and Carsyn Crews, both of Nicholls, GA; three sisters, Linda Wildes of Douglas, GA, JoAnne Vickers (Elisha) of Douglas, GA and Gail Hursey (Art) of Alatchua, FL; several nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00am at Douglas City Cemetery with Brother Marshall Adcock and Rev. Jason Merritt officiating. Pallbearers will be John Deen, Lane Deen, Waylon Deen, Ronnie Lott, Shawn Lott and Daniel Diliegros.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
