Clara Odums Owens Lewis was born on October 18, 1952, in Coffee County. She was born to the proud parents of the late George and Betty Jo Odums. Clara was also affectionately known as “Pumpkin” to all her family and friends. Clara attended the public schools of Atkinson County, where she graduated and became a school teacher. After working as a school teacher, she was employed by B.C. Moore.

Clara accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined the Church of God by Faith under the leadership of Elder H.N. Turner for 19 years. Mrs. Clara became a minister and joined Walking by Faith under the leadership of Bishop Larry Atkinson. She was a minister and mother of the church until she went home with the Lord. To Clara’s family and friends, she was always loving, caring, and always smiling. She never met a stranger. She was always making you laugh. Mrs. Clara loved and always put her family first, especially her children and grandchildren. Her memories will always live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband: Kenny Lewis; two daughters: Renee Thomas and Wanda (Thomas) Bethay; six grandchildren: Yolanda, Marsha, Delois, Quinita, Joe, Sadie (Dennis); two brothers: George Odums Jr. and James (Marlo) Odums; four sisters: Bobbie Jean (TJ) Porter, Aline Shaw, Joann (Leon) Toombs, and Rose (Darren) Mobley; one brother-in-law: Carl Lewis; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Lamb and Lucy (Jackie) McGriff; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also raised Jayden Taylor and Harlow Doir Whitehead.
