Federal hearings continued last week for several defendants arrested during Operation Sandy Bottom. On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, the following defendants along with their attorneys appeared in front of a federal magistrate judge to determine if they were to be granted a bond or detained pending trial in this case.
Tomika Evans-bond denied and detained pending trial.
Kenric Lott-bond denied and detained pending trial.
Javarra Vickers-bond denied and detained pending trial.
Michael Thomas-bond denied and detained pending trial.
Amos Brantley-bond granted, pending state probation violation revocation hearing, still in custody.
Montel Jackson-bond denied and detained pending trial.
On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, hearings continued for the following defendants:
Avie Wright-Bond granted.
Reggie Johnson-Bond granted.
Alexander Tyson-Bond granted.
Robert Peak-Bond granted.
Montana McGinty-Bond denied and detained pending trial.
Ricardo Leon-Waived his bond hearing and remains in custody pending trial.
All defendants that were granted bond, were granted under certain conditions which include but not limited to ankle monitors, house detention, random drug screens and no contact with certain individuals.
Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. James McGinty had his initial appearance and arraignment, his detention hearing was set for later this week.
Initial appearances and detention hearings will continue through the end of this week for the following defendants: Christina Alexander, Joshua McGinty, James McGinty, Daniel Lowe, Richard Young are all scheduled to appear for their initial appearance and detention hearings.
