Jonathan Darrell Corbitt, age 58, of Brooks, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Mr. Corbitt was born on March 6, 1962 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Jimmy and Sara Frances Luke Corbitt.

 

Mr. Corbitt was a Senior Database Administrator with the Defense Forensic Science Center, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during Desert Storm and was member of Connection Church, Griffin, GA.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Nichole Corbitt.

 

Survivors include his wife, Nadine P. Corbitt of Brooks, GA; son, Jonathan D. Corbitt (Makalee) of Williamson, GA; two daughters, Hayley Marie Ourvis and Misti Dawn Purvis both of Brooks, GA; two brothers, Darwin Corbitt (Trish) of Douglas, GA and Devin Corbitt (Beth) of Hahira, GA; sister, Debra Taft (J.R.) of N.C.; two grandchildren, Emily Corbitt and Kelly Cheyenne Chapman; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 12 noon until 1:45 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Purvis Cemetery with Rev. Steve Stringer and Rev. Tom Summers officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Connection Church, Griffin, Georgia.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
