CRH Surgical Group welcomes Dr. Timothy Humphries

Coffee Regional Medical Center announced the addition of Trauma & Critical Care Surgeon Timothy A. Humphries, M.D. to the CRMC Medical Staff. Dr. Humphries has joined Chet Royals, M.D. and Thomas Wehmann, D.O., at CRH Surgical Group located at 100 Doctors Drive, Suite C.  

 

Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Humphries earned his Doctor of Medicine at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, in 1996. He completed a General Surgery Residency at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, La. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

 

Dr. Humphries has received extensive and specific medical training in trauma, surgical critical care, and thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. He has completed two fellowships, the first being Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA, in 2003. After working in Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery for several years, he decided to continue his education. Dr. Humphries completed an additional fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Florida/Shands in Jacksonville, Fl, in 2007. From there, he worked at Atlanta Surgical Specialists at Atlanta Medical Center in trauma and surgical critical care and thoracic surgery. Additionally, Dr. Humphries served as the associate program director for the General Surgery Residency Program at Atlanta Medical Center. Dr. Humphries was most recently on the medical staff for the WellStar Trauma Surgery program where he specialized in trauma and surgical critical care.

 

CRMC CEO Vicki Lewis stated, “We are very pleased that Dr. Humphries has joined our medical staff. Dr. Humphries’s knowledge and expertise is a strong addition to both our surgical team and Coffee Regional Medical Center.”
