Mr. Carl Ivey Justice, age 77 of Douglas passed away Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Justice was born July 3, 1943 to the late Jack Justice and the late Edith Alma Cato Justice. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Mildred Willis, Clifford Justice, Frank Justice, Vermel Kelley, Sue Blankenship and Marilyn Seebeck.


Mr. Justice, a native of Ambrose, GA, had been a lieutenant with the Juvenile Division of the City of Douglas Police Department. He retired after 33 years of service.


Survivors include:

Daughter: Amber Pearson and husband Jason of Canton, GA

Brother: Homer Justice of West Green, GA

Grandchildren: Hallie Pearson, Eli Pearson, Benjamin Pearson and Shepard Pearson all of Canton, GA

Several friends and other relatives also survive.

The graveside service and interment will be Sunday afternoon, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at DeBerry Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Saturday evening, February 20, 2021 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Due to COVID-19 all attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the visitation, graveside service and interment. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
