Ruby Delores “Dale” Tanner, 82

Mrs. Ruby Delores “Dale” Tanner, age 82 of Axson, GA passed away late Wednesday evening, February 24, 2021 at her residence following a short illness. Mrs. Tanner was born May 6, 1938 to the late Hiram L. Davis, Jr. and the late Ruby Doris Sears Davis. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Hubert Tanner.

Mrs. Tanner, a native of Coffee County, was a homemaker, farmer, an employee of Precious Possessions Day Care and the Atkinson County Citizen. She was a member of Stokesville Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

Daughters: Marie Dockery and husband Kim of Concord, NC
Amy Spivey and husband Rozell of Pearson, GA
Julie Mathews and husband Clifton of Nicholls, GA
Jaynee Lockhart and husband Thomas of Warner Robins, GA
DeeJae Griffin and husband Brian of Douglas, GA

13 grandchildren: Jed, Rachel, Jeremy, Lee, Annsley, Cleeg, Tad, Drew, JoWalker, Lizzie Bea, Ruby Laine, Jesse and Laura Jae

11 great grandchildren: Hannah, Hope, Isabella, Sims, Maudie Lee, Kirbie, Paisley, Ella, and Charleigh Ann, Grae and Karlie Dale

Sister: Jean Hester of Folkston, GA

Several other relative also survive.

 

The graveside service and interment were held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Stokesville Cemetery with Rev. Gregory and Jackie Pope officiating.

Active pallbearers will be: Jeremy Johns, Jed Vickers, Lee Johns, Cleeg Mathews, Tanner Solomon, Jesse Griffin and JoWalker Solomon.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Stokesville Cemetery Fund or to Childhood Cancer Awareness Group of Coffee County PO Box 1203 Douglas, GA 31534.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
