David William Adams, age 55, of Broxton, Georgia passed away after a courageous battle with prostate cancer on Tuesday evening, March 2, 2021 at his residence.

 

David was born on June 19, 1965 at Andrews AFB, Maryland the son of the late Cornelius and Thora Ward Adams. He worked with Premium Waters Inc. and Elixir Industries. He was a United States Army veteran with 22 years of service, retiring as a Master Sergeant.  His service included deployments to the Sinai, Bosnia, and Kuwait. Mr. Adams was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Douglas, GA.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Paul Andrew Adams.

 

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Dea Adams of Broxton, GA; daughters, Kallie Adams, Kadence Adams and Kenzie Adams, all of Broxton, GA; three brothers, Peter Adams of Nicholls, GA, Timothy Adams of Nicholls, GA, Stephen Adams (Penny) of Douglas, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Bounds officiating. Vicki Merritt will give a eulogy. 

 

Pallbearers will be Bradley Adams, Brandon Adams, Mathew Adams, Mark Adams, Logan Gillis, and Galen Griffis. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Whitley, golfing buddies, Andy Varnadore, and L.J. Chambers. Gray McKinnon will play prelude and postlude music.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
