Mr. Jerome Johnson was born on February 10, 1956, to the late Lawrence “Bud” Merritt and the late Fannie “Georgia Mae” Johnson-Merritt in Coffee County, Georgia. He attended school in Broxton, Georgia. Mr. Johnson was employed by Shann Peanut for several years until he transitioned to his heavenly home.
On Sunday February 28, 2021 our community was saddened when the dedicated and the life of the party Jerome “Rome” Johnson’s life came to an end at his home. He is preceded in death by his only older sister Evelyn Johnson-Hollis; grandparents: Ruby Mazyk and Missionary Bernestine Fields Williams; two aunts: Rosa Lee Johnson and Nelense “Hessie” Merritt; uncles: Elder Jessee Williams III, Eugene Williams, Willie Frank Williams, and George Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories: a lifetime special friend: Syndi Hooper; six children: Candice (Glenn) Turner, Snowy Johnson, Jerome (Nakesha) Johnson, Sasha Johnson, Brandy Hooper, and Nicole Hooper ; three aunts: Gwendolyn Annette (Rev. James) Anthony, Barbera Ann Jenkins and Dorothy Williams; three uncles: David (Fannie) Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Albert Johnson; niece/child: Tryphenia Johnson; nephews: Charles Hollis and Octavius (Robyn) Williams; sixteen grandchildren; one great -grandchild; a special cousin: Lacarvius Sears; longtime friends: Reginald “Hollywood” Lewis, James Porter, Henry Porter, Bruce Newell, and many more and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
