Carolyn Ruth Young, age 79, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Young was born on August 8, 1941 in Bacon County, Georgia the daughter of the late Otis Lee and Lucille Melton Aldridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Michael, Jeffery and, Thomas Lee Young.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda Porter of Douglas, GA, Sherry Desrochers (David) of Morrisville, Vermont and, Linda Phillips of Douglas, GA; son, Ray Young (Penny) of Douglas, GA; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a special great granddaughter, Elizabeth Peters; sister, Ann Streat (Roy) of Nicholls, GA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.
A service will be held Sunday afternoon with Pastor Chris Calhoun officiating at Sims Funeral Home Chapel.
Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
