Ms. Donnakaye Chaney, age 41 of Axson, Ga., passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at her home following a brief illness. 

 

A native of Coffee County, Ga., Donnakaye was born, October 5, 1979, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie and Cathy Jackson Chaney.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whether that was at home grilling in the backyard or enjoying the sand and sunshine at the beach.  Donnakaye attended Saving Grace Church and was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wilson and Eunice Youngblood and maternal grandparents, Vincent and Annie Lee McDonald Luke.  

 

Survivors include:

 

Parents:  Donnie and Cathy Chaney of Axson, Ga.

 

Daughters:  Dasha Arnold and husband John of Pearson, Ga.

Anna Mae Tanner of Pearson, Ga.

 

Sisters:  Tonie Chaney of Douglas, Ga.

Tonya Pittman of Axson, Ga.

Lynn Chaney of Douglas, Ga.

 

Brother:  Donnie Lee Chaney, Jr. of Douglas, Ga.

 

Grandson:  Bentley Arnold of Pearson, Ga.

 

Several other relatives also survive.

 

Graveside funeral services for Ms. Chaney were held, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Jowers Chapel Cemetery with Rev. David Smith officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Nothing Compares to You” and “Dancing in the Sky” rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Jowers Chapel Cemetery.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Travis Chaney, Trent Chaney, Ronnie Chaney, Jacob Chaney, Cody Vickers and Vincent Daniels.

 

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
